Sunset Point is the first step of an envisioned greater development of the Ford Lake shoreline.

It will connect Ford Lake to Wilson Park, providing a great place to take a break—a short walk from downtown—capitalizing on Milan’s least-utilized natural resource, Ford Lake.

Key Construction Tasks

• Pour a concrete sidewalk on the south side of the spillway, with an enlarged area at the end for a picnic table.
• Extend the sidewalk on the north side of the spillway as far as the opening in the existing guard rail.
• Create a “Signature Paver” brick pad on the south side of the spillway.
• Upgrade existing fencing and extend it to accommodate the rest of the project.
• Resurface the existing pipe rails.
• Create two accessible crosswalks for pedestrians.
